Ostrich ferns are usually around 3.5 feet tall and green. They are distributed around the world as they are very adaptable to their habitats. Ferns prefer shade but some can grow in sunlight. They are very resilient as they can survive in temperatures down to -40 degrees Fahrenheit. These amazing plants provide food for decomposers when dead.
